Come in for regular check-ups
Here at Tandliv, the focus is very much on the collaboration with the patient. We focus on finding the optimal result and solutions that suit the individual. We strive for everyone to keep their own teeth for as long as possible, and we do this primarily through preventive dentistry.
The most common preventive dental care is regular check-ups with the dentist or dental hygienist. Here, the patient receives advice and guidance on how to best care for their teeth in everyday life and what measures would be optimal for the individual.
Early diagnosis is important
Early diagnosis through regular check-ups can prevent major treatments and many dental diseases can be treated with good oral hygiene. That's why we spend a lot of time instructing patients on how to use various aids to clean their teeth, such as flossing, interdental brushes and proper toothbrushing.
In addition, preventive dentistry involves X-rays approximately every 2 years, as you can easily monitor the development of caries (cavities).
Regular teeth cleaning is also part of preventive dental care. A dental cleaning is performed to prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease by removing tartar from the teeth. How often you need a dental cleaning is individual. We fluoride varnish, as this strengthens the enamel's resistance and slows down the rate of caries progression.
Individual advice on diet and tooth-preserving treatments such as replacing silver fillings or crown treatment are also part of preventive dentistry.
