Who does the agreement cover?
The scheme will be rolled out over the next 4 years, starting this year with the class of 2004. In 2023, the scheme will also apply to the 2005 cohort and so on until 2026, when the last cohort, the 2007 cohort, will be included. This means that in 2022, ONLY the 2004 cohort can use the agreement.
It can be a little confusing to find out if you're in the scheme or not. The rule is that if you were born before 2004, you are NOT covered by the new agreement, unfortunately.
How does the agreement work?
If you are one of the lucky ones born in 2004, you now have the opportunity to choose whether you want to stay in school dental care or move to a private clinic. If you want to continue in school dental care, you don't need to do anything. You will automatically be called for a check-up when the time comes.
If you want to move to a private clinic, you need to contact the school dental clinic and tell them which clinic you want to move to. Next, send the necessary documents to the clinic and let them know when you are due for your next check-up. When the time comes, you will be contacted by your new dental clinic to make an appointment for a check-up.
It is up to the school dental service to decide when the inspection is. If you want a check-up before that, it is unfortunately at your own expense.
What does the agreement cover?
The agreement covers check-ups, X-rays and dental cleaning. In addition, the agreement covers treatments up to approximately DKK 2000. Anything beyond that must be applied for through the school dental service. Aesthetic treatments such as teeth whitening and orthodontics are not covered.
