Dental fear
Dental fear refers to the fear of dentistry and of receiving dental care. Variously called dental phobia, odontophobia, dentophobia, dentist phobia, or dental anxiety.
Dental anxiety, odontophobia
There are various reasons for dental phobia and there are many people who suffer from it. Therefore, we at the clinic are used to treat people who suffer from dental anxiety.
You are welcome to call or write us. You can also stop by and discuss how we can reduce (in some cases even eliminate) your dental anxiety.
Overcome your dental anxiety
Dental anxiety is the reason why approximately 800,000 Danes do not consult their dentist on a regular basis.
40 percent, representing four out of ten, of the Danish population suffer from dental anxiety to a greater or lesser extent, which is why part of them never, or very rarely consult their dentist.
Fear of sitting in a dentist´s chair, mouth open, is not a new phenomenon. But it is a problem because avoiding the dentist also means avoiding taking care of your teeth properly, and by neglecting dental treatment you risk major dental problems. Much more severe than they perhaps needed to be.
If you consult your dentist on a regular basis, the problems and hence the price will in most cases remain manageable. By neglecting your dental consultations, you also neglect your teeth.
Therefore it is important to tell your dentist that you are suffering from dental anxiety. Dentists at the Enghave Square Clinic are trained to manage and cure dental anxiety. Once you trust your dentist, the dental anxiety will strongly diminish or even better completely disappear.
